TSI Five-O: Neither khatta nor meetha, it's just tasteless!
When the highlight of the movie is the interval or an interesting remark from the back row of the movie hall, it's not that difficult to guess how the movie would be. From the house of Priyadarshan, this is probably the most horrendous of his creations ever. After having directed the same story in Malayalam more than two decades ago, Priyadarshan had the audacity to subject his viewers to a two hour forty minute long saga, which is clearly a broth spoiled by too many cooks (read issues/stories). And not only that, a relatively fine actor, Akshay, after having becoming accustomed to bearing the brunt of flop movies, has even produced this rather obvious flop. The movie unfortunately revolves around Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar), who is an unsuccessful road contractor caught amidst bureaucracy, corruption, long lost love, family issues, loans, liabilities and debts and on top of it is pestered by political ties. How so many issues get minimal screen time with or without Akshay, do not make for an interesting turn of events, but you'll have to see them if you're reviewing 'Khatta Meetha' too! Trisha Krishnan too blotches-up her Bollywood debut and is a huge disappointment as far as on-screen chemistry with Akshay is concerned. At one point you might feel that even the music has let you down, but then the saving grace is one song, which can be labelled as a sweet melody. The rest of it is OMG!
